Looks like someone is taking cheap shots at Starbucks. Well, I like it! When gourmet store Brooklyn Fare decided they needed a branding strategy, they asked Mucca Design to come up everything from their packaging design, custom typeface, and copywriting to their interior signage and t-shirts.

I’m sort of glad the Coava Coffee cafe is inconveniently located for me. My taste in coffee has been raised by years of Stumptown, Courier, and Heart. I don’t want that coffee snobbery to elevate to the point where I can only enjoy a perfectly prepared pour over of the San Rafael by the masterful hands of their barista. It’s my favorite cup of coffee. More than once I have paused after my first sip and said, “Shit.” It’s the lament of a perfect cup and the knowledge that the next coffee I have won’t be this good. Nothing is as good as this. This is a perfect cup of coffee.
It’s coffee week on Urban Honking.
